I plan and shoot social content so one day's filming gives you a full set of versions: vertical for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, square or 4:5 for feeds, and 16:9 for YouTube and your website. Everything comes back captioned and sized, ready to post or to hand to your media agency.
What I make
- Ad campaigns for Meta, TikTok and YouTube
- Vertical, square and wide versions
- Cut-downs from a larger shoot
- Captions burnt in, and as separate files
- Founder and staff pieces to camera
- Product and service explainers
- Event and behind-the-scenes content
- Regular content days through the year
One shoot, every shape
Framing for several shapes is a decision made on the day, not a crop applied afterwards. I compose with the vertical and square versions in mind while shooting, so the main subject still sits well when the edges go. That way a single shoot covers the campaign rather than needing a separate one for each platform.
Made to work on mute
Most feeds play without sound, so the opening seconds and the on-screen text do the work. I cut for that: a strong first moment, captions burnt in, and the key message readable even when the phone is silent.
Several versions, not one
For paid campaigns it helps to have a few cuts with different openings, lengths and calls to action, so your media agency can see what performs and put the budget there. There is more on how I plan those in this guide.
The best part about working with Ro is how easy he is to work with. He took care of everything: from sitting down and casually interviewing our co-founders, to shooting our team working and collaborating together, to selecting the music and producing the final cut. And feedback on the video has been great, with viewers commenting that it is “authentic and approachable”. I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend Ro, and look forward to working with him again in the future!
Questions
Can you cut social versions from video I already have?
Often, yes. It depends on how the original was framed and what resolution it was shot at. Send me what you have and I'll tell you straight whether it will hold up vertically or whether new filming is the better spend.
What do I get at the end?
The versions we agreed, in the shapes and lengths each platform needs, captioned and named clearly. If your team or agency is running the ads, they get the files in the specs they ask for.
