What the panel is
The All-of-Government Creative and Media Services panel is a common-use contract run by NZ Government Procurement. It covers content production (including videography), creative services, media strategy, cultural competency and social media.
I'm an approved supplier on the panel for video production.
How agencies engage a supplier
NZ Government Procurement's guidance says agencies can approach a provider directly or shortlist several for a secondary process. Which route applies depends on the value of the work, with direct sourcing suggested for smaller jobs.
Before work starts, the agency and supplier sign a Creative and Media Services Order (CMSO).
A simple path for a video project
- Check with your procurement team that your agency uses the panel, and which process applies.
- Send the supplier a short brief covering audience, message, deliverables, timing and a budget range.
- Get a proposal and quote, plus references if you need them.
- Sign the CMSO and start planning.
What to put in the brief
Who it's for, the key message, where it will be shown, accessibility needs (captions, te reo Māori, NZSL), sign-off steps, any sensitive content or consent requirements, and your deadline.
