Getting ready for your shoot

What to sort before I turn up, so the day runs smoothly.

Two weeks out

  • Confirm who's being interviewed and send them the topics (not a script).
  • Book rooms and check they'll be quiet.
  • Sort access, parking and any site inductions.
  • Get consent forms signed for anyone on camera.

The week before

  • Send me logos, brand guidelines and name titles.
  • Agree the schedule. Allow about 45 minutes per interview, including setup.
  • Tidy the spaces we'll film in and take anything confidential off screens and walls.

What to wear

Plain, mid-tone colours work best. Avoid fine stripes, small checks, big logos and bright white. If you're unsure, bring a spare top.

On the day

  • Have one contact person around all day.
  • If you can, switch off air-conditioning in the interview room.
  • Relax. It's a conversation, and anything can be done again.

Questions

Should people learn their lines?

Usually not. Natural answers to good questions sound far better than memorised lines.
